🌎 How are languages set by default?

By default, Elba retrieves your users' language preferences from your Identity Provider (IdP).

For Google Workspace & Okta IdPs, a user with English set as their language in their IdP will receive notifications and have the Elba interface in English.


For Microsoft, a different logic applies:

  • If the user's email ends with ".fr", the interface is in French.
  • If the user's email ends with ".co.uk", the interface is in English.
  • If the user's email ends with ".us", the interface is in English.
  • If the user's email ends with ".it", the interface is in Italian.
  • If the user's email ends with ".pt", the interface is in Portuguese.
  • If the user's email ends with ".de", the interface is in German.

Otherwise, it will default to the region of our organisation : if located in EU (login.eu.elba.security), language will be in French ; otherwise in english.

We support 2 languages for admin (English & French), and those 6 languages for members:

All users can edit their language preference directly from the app:

- In your admin portal: click on the 3 dots next to your name on the bottom of the side bar and click on "Switch language"

- In your member portal: click on the 3 dots next to your name on the top left of the screen and click on "Switch language"
